Tuas Tide & Sky

Coastal weather, tides and sky notes from the western shore of Singapore.

This week on the strait

The inter-monsoon weeks bring glassy mornings and fast-building afternoon cells over the Johor Strait. Visibility at dawn has been excellent for plane-spotting along the Tuas coast, with the usual haze staying offshore.

Field notes

White-bellied sea eagles were active over the mangroves at first light. The mudflats are firming up after the spring tides; boots recommended beyond the second boardwalk marker.
